Chandani

"Thank you Food for Life Vrindavan for making me what I am today"

Chandani, which means moonlight in Hindi, is 20 years old. She is the oldest daughter of 4, and thus she bears the most responsibility of all the children in the house. Since kindergarten, Chandani has been with us and graduated from Sandipani Muni school in 2018. Although Chandani had many responsibilities at home, she always enjoyed taking care of those around her. We know her as a very emphatic and responsible girl.

Therefore we are sure she will do great as a healthcare provider where she is currently training to become a certified ophthalmic member of staff at the eye department of Brij health care hospital. Apart from her training at the hospital, she is also pursuing a bachelor’s degree in commerce. Chandani wants to support her family so that her siblings also get the opportunity to study and get a chance at a better life. Chandani is yet another unique example of how education for girls can lead to women’s empowerment.

Sherin Qureshi

"Thank you FFLV, I will now help the children who are in a vulnerable condition, just as I was.

Life took a dramatic turn for Sherin since her father got diagnosed with cancer. Her unemployed mother had to take care of him and their four kids. Being a fatal disease as it was and despite the expensive treatment, Sherin’s father passed away after two years in 2009.

The intense life became more difficult to bear for the mother and the kids. Although her mother was always concerned about their education and upbringing, they found some relief when they first heard about FFLV and immediately came to take admission. Knowing their critical condition, we took in the sisters and despite the struggle, Sherin attended her classes every day.

Sherin completed her school with a specialization in the science field. After completing her Bachelor’s degree in science Sherin joined FFLV in the sponsorship department and now is serving the other girls, supporting herself financially at the same time.

Baby Agrawal

Baby Agrawal – a girl who never saw anything now has everything

The nourishment of this little plant was done in such a way that it has become shadow for others. Her father was a construction laborer and it was not possible for him to even provide the basic necessities for his children, thus education was just unimaginable. But, when God closes one door he opens the next door…this saying is very much true in the life of Baby.

Life took a turning point from there, it was a complete change..God has shown a ray of hope through Baby’s admission at Sandipani Muni School. After working as a teacher for a while, she has joined FFLV’s office with strong determination. Her tears were rolling down her cheeks as she was narrating her life path so far. She humbly expressed that dilemma in life gives pain in our heart but we should find the way to love ourselves.

Today, she is the sole breadwinner of her family as her father is now not able to support them so she works and maintains her parents at this young age. Baby mentioned that her twelve years in SMS was a ‘princess’ life. It was a heart felt and a touching interview. She added the finishing cream of the cake by saying that if someone asks me, ‘where is heaven?…it is this school.
